Pilot's Statement:: I am in love. No if's, no but's - this is the real thing. As soon as I saw the P51 repaint in FS Club colours I went all weak in the knees. The lines were smooth as unmistakably all P51 Mustang. The gold paint positively glittered & shimmered in the noon day sun. I took it for a run to test out a beta scenery file (http://www.westsim.com.au) by doing touch & go's at a small airstrips near Perth. After a touch & go at Dwellingup (small, dirt, rough, short), I just(?) cleared the trees at the end of the runway & retracted the gear. The P-51 wasn't climbing normally. An external view showed why! I'm not sure if the problem was the rough strip or the trees. Recycling the gear didn't work & both main wheels stayed where they were! I landed on the grass at Jandakot. (At least I didn't break nosewheel this time!) |
